Exelon Power is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the company's fossil and hydroelectric fleet of generating assets. The current fleet has more than a dozen fossil and hydroelectric plants, consisting of 109 units capable of generating approximately 8,000 megawatts of electricity in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, Texas, and Massachusetts. Exelon Power's diverse generating portfolio enables the company to be competitive in the deregulated power market during the intermediate seasons and peak demand periods. Locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas and Massachusetts PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position provides first-level supervision of the Operations Technicians. The Shift Manager proactively ensures environmental compliance with federal, state and local agencies and is responsible for the full development and coaching of team members. Also, responsible for station assets and maintaining them to the standards of Exelon Power. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Responsible during an assigned shift for supervising the Production Technicians in the overall operation, maintenance and technical troubleshooting of power plant equipment in a safe, continuous, efficient, and economical manner. 2. Oversees the replacement or repair of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and the installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of instrumentation. 3. Responsible for the implementation of the conduct of operations to meet the standards listed in the Operator Fundamentals. 4. Adheres to and applies company policies in all dealings with employees. 5. Responsible for the management of O&M cost. 6. Support Station/Division strategic Goals and Objectives. 7. Administer Passport and Work Management Process. 8. Performs other duties and handles special projects as assigned. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering field with 5 years engineering experience in power plant operations or a related field, OR 2. High school diploma with minimum of 8 years operations/maintenance/technical experience at the first class level. 3. Technical knowledge related to power generation equipment auxiliaries. 4. Excellent communication skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts. 6. Demonstrated ability to provide direction to groups and staff personnel. 7. Excellent interpersonal skills. 8. Excellent verbal, written and listening skills. 9. Demonstrated ability to facilitate in group decision-making and team building. 10. Knowledge of fossil plant operations. 11. Must be available to work rotating shift work. 12. Ability to complete the Supervisory Assessment Process. 13.
