Senior Security Analyst

Philadelphia Gas WorksSecurity Analyst – Information Services Department 

Responsibilities Include:

 

· Participates in all areas within PGW for information security related projects and verifies implementation of security policies for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications and computer installations.

· Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business information security needs, objectives, procedures and problems while ensuring compliance with information security policies.

· Reviews contracts for security related issues and follows up with vendors for issue resolution as part of the negotiation process.

· Provides technical leadership in investigations for external incidents or intrusions as well as internal incidents such as inappropriate use of company systems, networks and tools.

· Provides general security support and training to employees and consultants

· Performs risk management analysis and evaluation on production data.

· Works with third party vendors that provide information security management services.

· Incorporates best practices into the development lifecycle to assure development of code that is secure and reliable.

· Out of hours and on--call obligations are to be anticipated in normal operations.

· Other duties as specified by the Director, Information Controls and Compliance.

 

Qualifications:

 

· Proficiency in Information Security and Control tools from Cisco, Network Associates (Private0l), Secure Logic (Vigilante) and Bindview.

· Excellent knowledge and experience with security requirements for Novell Netware, CISCO, HPUX, Linus, Windows,, IBM Mainframe and telecommunications (voice and data) environments.

· A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area of study, or demonstrated equivalent work experience required.

· CISSP and/or CCSP certified a plus

· Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.

· Solid understanding of Configuration Management and testing methodologies both manual and automated.

· Excellent knowledge and experience with deploying secure wireless networks.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Proven ability to work under stress or in emergencies.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools, Access, Project and Visio.

 

Residency Requirement :  All employees of the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) must live in the City of Philadelphia for the duration of their employment. If a candidate does not live in the City of Philadelphia at the time of hire, he/she must move into the city within twelve (12) months of his/her hire date.
