Senior Reliability Engineer

Change the world with Idealab. eSolar develops large utility-scale solar power plants to cleanly and cost-effectively generate electricity on a massive scale. eSolar is an Idealab company and is located in Pasadena.The Senior Reliability Engineer analyzes engineering designs of solar thermal power plant subsystems to recommend test methods for attaining requisite operational reliability. Formulates test plans to ensure statistically significant data. Conducts failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), identifies areas of excessive failure risk, and supports engineering teams in risk mitigation design changes.•Analyze engineering designs for reliability risks•Formulate test plans and analyze results•Develop analysis methods for determining reliability of components and systems•Acquire and analyze reliability data from field studies and databases, finding correlations using well defined engineering and statistical techniques•Clearly document analysis and test results, present findings and recommendations to multiple engineering teams•Formulate risk mitigation plans•Track risks to closure•Minimum BS in engineering or mathematics•8+ years experience in reliability engineering•Proficient with statistical data analysis, and familiar with software tools such as MiniTab•Experience with power generation desired•Functional understanding of principals of solar thermal power generation•Ability to multitask and manage priorities•Attention to detail•Good written and verbal communication skills•Comfort working in the fast-paced environment of a young, rapidly-growing company•Flexibility and eagerness to learnINTERESTED CANDIDATES SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR RESUME AND SALARYHISTORY TO: eSolar CareersAn Equal Opportunity Employer About IdealabWhat We DoOur Working EnvironmentBenefitsCareer FAQsMore Job Openings at Idealab
