Del Technical Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Project Electrical Engineer to be the primary interface for technical issues on wind farm generating facility projects (50-200 MV) for a Renewable Energy Company in Chicago, IL. This is a direct hire opportunity. Our client offers competitive salary and excellent benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead electrical contact for engineer of record of multiple facilities (typically 3-4 projects/year)Assist in conceptual design of wind farm electrical collection systems (34.5 kV), substations (34.5 kV-transmission voltage 115 kV-230 kV-345kV), and project owned transmission lines.Lead major equipment (transformers, breakers, etc.) specification, evaluation and selection processAssist in developing project specific construction specifications, bidding and contractor selectionAssist in standardization of electrical designs, specifications, etc.Review of utility interconnection facility studiesReview of project design considerations for steady state, power factor, short circuit, transient analysis, grounding, protective device coordination, arc flash, SCADA interface design, and communication systemsDesign review of projects in constructionMonitor construction progress and support resolution of field issuesSupport operating facilities with electrical procedure development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BS or MS in electrical engineeringFive to ten years experience HV/MV substation design and constructionStrong working knowledge of NESC and ANSI/IEEE standards and codesComputer proficiency in spreadsheet modeling using Microsoft ExcelVerbal and written communications skillsSome travel requiredIf you are interested in this opportunity and meet the minimum requirements listed above, please email an updated copy of your resume to swebb@deltech.com
