Senior Package Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
1. Prepare auxiliary systems diagrams and bills of material to meet contract requirements and comply with API and ASME standards.
2. Prepare specifications for piping, piping hydro-tests, installation and systems drafting to meet customer requirements.
3. Prepare component specifications for vendor supplied components such as valves, transmitters, filters.
4. Perform equipment skid foundation static and dynamic loading calculations.
5. Develop unique designs as required to meet contract or project requirements.
6. Design pressure vessels and other non-vendor supplied system components to meet contract and code requirements.
7. Review console and compressor system arrangement drawings for design considerations and meeting contract requirements.
8. Perform functional review of buyout engineered systems.
9. Resolve design conflicts between Systems and customer requirements and coordinate with Project Engineering and Drafting.
10. Insure Drafting has correct vendor component drawings.
11. Write operating and test instructions pertaining to the auxiliary systems designed.
12. Implement Company specifications. Write devadds to Company specifications as required by the contract.
13. Complete work accurately (the first time) and within the predetermined schedule.
14. Assist in reviewing and updating Company 003 specifications assigned to Package Engineering Department.
15. Prepare buyout specifications and purchase requisitions for the purchase package related systems and components such as Lube oil consoles, Dry gas seal panels, Baseplates, Unit control panels, etc.
16. Assist Test Department in resolving systems related problems.
17. Assist Field Service Department in resolving systems related problems.
18. Establish new and revised standards for systems design criteria and update systems design guide as required.
19. Establish new standards for systems components.
20. Review and comment to customer specifications for Marketing. Develop and present systems design concepts for Marketing.
21. Develop new design procedures for Systems Engineering.
Requires B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent eight years experience in the compressor or related industry experience required. Knowledge of rotating machinery and/or energy industry processes helpful.
Working knowledge of API Standards (613, 614, 617) and Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel). Ability to work in team environment, good verbal and written communication skills. Independently performs assignments.
