Senior Geophysicist/Geophysical Advisor (Exploration - Brazil)
Seeking qualified individuals for Full Time Direct Hire opportunities with a global energy company. POSITION SUMMARY:
Company holds interest in 2 licenses offshore Brazil, BM-ES-30 and BM-S-22 and we are actively seeking to expand our portfolio of material prospects through license round acquisition and focused farm-in opportunities. The candidate for this position will be responsible in collaboration with other team members for producing the regional context for, prioritizing and evaluating those opportunities.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Regional mapping and play analysis
· Opportunity screening and prioritization
· Integrating geological and geophysical input from numerous sources and other company experts to provide context for opportunities
· Lead / Prospect mapping and risk / resource analysis in conjunction with geologist
· Recommending farm-ins and license acquisitions
COMPETENCIES:
· Proven ability to rapidly evaluate large volumes of data and focus on key priorities
· Technical focus in or practical knowledge of seismic attribute analysis and rock physics
· Practical knowledge of the integration and evaluation of the overall petroleum system at prospect and basin scale
· Knowledge of the impact of different seismic processing methods in different geological environments and the effect of imaging on seismic interpretation
· Depth Conversion
· Ability to work effectively in team environment and integrate data from multiple sources
· Fluency in Portuguese preferred
EXPERIENCE:
5-15 or more years experience in the Oil/Gas industry
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
· B.S. in Geology or Geophysics required
· M.S. in Geology or Geophysics preferred
