The Plant engineering U.S. group of Westinghouse Electric Company - Nuclear Services is looking for an experienced Structural / Mechanical Engineer. This engineer will be responsible for the following:- Perform routine engineering design evaluations and analysis.- Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analysis.- Verify routine design evaluations and analysis performed by others, as qualified.- Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors and other internal functional groups on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.- Obtain results to routine technical problems.- Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation.- Identify and assist in development of new business opportunities.- Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within scheduler and budgetary requirements.- Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.The successful candidate will have the following:- A degree in Civil Engineering. - Minimum of 6 - 9 years of experience.- The incumbent must possess analytical skills, critical thinking, a passion for attention to details and excellent communication skills including technical writing.- Must have recent experience with GT STRUDL, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.- Familiarity with nuclear industry requirements and the ASME Code as it relates to the nuclear industry is desirable.- Experience in writing Design Change Packages (DCPs), Engineering Change Packages (ECPs), etc. a definite plus.- Willing to work in a fast-paced organization with sometimes unrealistic deadlines and workloads that require long hours.- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access in commercial nuclear power facilities.- Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required.
