Senior BEA Weblogic Portal Administrator
 Department Overview We are seeking a Senior BEA Weblogic Server Administrator for our Roseville location. The Web Server Administration Department is responsible for all internal and external web portals, their security and their reliability covering 7 x 24 operations. Position Summary The primarily responsibility of this position is to administer the BEA Weblogic Server (version 8.1, SP3 and higher), WebLogic Platform, AquaLogic, in a Solaris or AIX environment.  Responsibilities: Partner with IT and non-IT UNIX server support organizations for the development of a unified set of standards including all appropriate configuration manuals. Work closely with peers, enterprise architect, strategic planning, software developers, database administrators, and various client departments to ensure efficient integration and operation of hardware, software and various internally and externally developed applications. Build and maintain solid working relationships by working cooperatively with team members, and other groups / organizations as appropriate. Participate in various (ongoing) projects associated with pge.com and other Internet related initiatives. Coordinate and/or participate in various network activities, including support on existing infrastructure, on-call responsibilities, clearances, service level agreements, and support documentation and process development as required. Provide clear, consistent and timely communication regarding all job responsibilities including project updates, proposals, operational issues, etc. Develop change management processes to ensure that all products are tested and certified in a consistent manner. Work with business partners on specific needs related to WebLogic and AquaLogic and its supporting infrastructure. This may include requests that are outside of current standard. Provide regular communication and documentation on current standards and product life cycle information. Evaluate current documentation process and adapt changes as necessary. This includes reviewing, creating and updating Configuration Manuals, white papers, and researching and recommending best practices. Qualifications Required: Open to Change (Adaptability) Relationship Building Advocacy and Persuasion Inquiry Resolution Process Improvement Technological Savvy Business Understanding Managing for Results Building Agreement Safety Customer Focus Job Skills Communications Teamwork Quality & Efficiency 5 to 7 years technical background and 3 years experience as a Systems Administrator of BEA Weblogic Server (version 8.1, SP3 and higher), WebLogic Platform, AquaLogic, in a Solaris or AIX environment. Performance tuning and capacity planning. An overall understanding of multi-tier web architecture with strong knowledge of J2EE technology, web services, and BEA platform BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering   Equal Employment Opportunity, M/F/D/V.
