Position SummaryResponsible for the general accounting duties for the Plant Maintenance Group.Duties and responsibilities:  Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate support documentation Reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with monthly close Interaction with Plant Accounting to resolve general ledger issues and prepare monthly outage reconciliations Analysis of outage variances Responsible for reviewing and interpreting contracts and applying requirements to the general ledger as necessary Assist with auditor requests Prepare other ad-hoc reports/schedules as required Prepare various compliance documents and analyses Document job processes and procedures Assist with SOX as needed Interact with the groups across Calpine businesses and geographies Other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications  Qualifications  Four-year degree in Accounting.  Minimum of two years related work experience. Strong analytical and technical general ledger skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; results-oriented; able to work autonomously and in a team environment.  Self-starter with initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with significant deadlines.  Dependable and can follow through on all assignments. Must be motivated to work independently and complete these responsibilities with little supervision.
