Security Operations Center Coordinator
NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) is a Fortune 500 company engaged in natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, as well as electric generation, transmission and distribution.
Security Operations Center Coordinator
The Security Operations Center Coordinator is the primary system administrator for NiSource’s enterprise-wide access control system. This position will lead the operation of NiSource’s twenty-four hour Security Operations Center located in Hammond, Indiana.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the operation of the twenty-four hour security operations center which serves as the company’s single point of contact for security matters.
· Oversee contract security personnel assigned to Security Operations Center.
· Develop policies and procedures for handling security related incidents.
· Serve as the primary system administrator for NiSource’s enterprise-wide access control system (ACS). NiSource utilizes Software House’s C-Cure 800, Model 40, Redundant Software System.
· Conduct system functionality testing of the access control system to ensure proper coverage and operation.
· Manage and coordinate access control system for NiSource facilities by creating and editing access levels to ensure correct status control, audits of the system and equipment.
· Identify system malfunctions, troubleshoot, and contact vendor to for assistance as necessary. Assist in the resolution of technical issues by examining root cause and the development of corrective action.
· Oversee and coordinate NiSource’s company identification card program for employees, contractors, tenants, and visitors. Ensure that proper identification cards and supplies are designed, ordered, and maintained at all times.
· Assist in the development of capital budget requests for access control projects. Develop operating budget for the Security Operations Center.
· Develop and maintain a protocol for testing all ACS devices quarterly. Protocol must include process for tracking maintenance, repair, or replacement, of inoperable equipment.
· Develop and maintain Post Orders, and standard operating procedures, for the Security Operations Center.
· This position may be required to periodically participate in internal investigations, make security awareness presentations, provide executive protection support, or provide security related guidance, under the direction of his/her Manager. This position also provides support and backup coverage to other members of the Corporate Security Team as directed.
Requirements:
· Excellent technical and computer skills. Knowledge of PERL, MySQL is a plus.
· Ability to read blueprints in order to determine application and placement of security devices on new projects.
· Knowledge of access control systems, digital video management systems, and integration software.
· Strong personal initiative, proven decision-making ability, integrity and confidentiality.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Effective presentation skills.
· Knowledge of IRIMS or a similar incident reporting/management system.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
· Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
· Minimum of three years experience with access control system methodology, systems, and tools. (C-Cure 800, Model 40 experience is a plus.)
· Minimum of six years experience with a law enforcement, military, intelligence, public or private sector security organization.
· Must have previous supervisory experience.
· Travel: less than 10%. Occasional local travel and out of town travel required.
· Work Hours: ability to work nonstandard hours, weekends, and extended hours required.
