INTEQ, a global leader in providing Answers While Drilling (SM), is a division of Baker Hughes, and is currently seeking a Repair & Maintenance District Manager for the Rocky Mountain District located in Casper, WY, USA. The Rocky Mountain District is a fast growing operation that utilizes the latest advances in Motor, MWD, LWD and Automated Steering technologies. JOB SUMMARY : The District Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Manager coordinates, via the Repair and Maintenance workshop supervisor and Department Lead Technicians, the daily workload in order to meet the demands of the customer by assessing current inventory levels and assigning the required personnel to assemble equipment needed while operating within the limits of the cost center budget. MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR: - Development, training, personnel planning and management of all Down Hole and Surface Tool - Technicians. Provide a safe work environment by minimizing potential hazards in the workplace. - Maintaining the cost center budget within planned levels and minimizes product downtime. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform work in accordance with Baker Hughes INTEQ Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures. 2. Ensure effective utilization of personnel and equipment in order to produce consistently reliable products on schedule. 3. Monitor work in progress within the shop to ensure timely completion of work with due regard to quality. Assist and advise in areas of difficulty and inform the PL manager/s of any abnormalities. 4. In collaboration with the HR department, participate in the selection process for new Technicians. Other personnel responsibilities would include maintaining discipline within the Shop, working with Regional R&M manager and HR in determining disciplinary procedures and conducting quarterly performance reviews with Technicians. 5. Develop and maintain processes to track and communicate demands for products and services supplied by the Maintenance Facility: • Assist the Accounts department by verifying on a monthly basis the accurateness of fixed asset information. 6. Interface with Coordinators regarding equipment requirements on an ongoing or, if applicable, day to day basis 7. Co-ordinate production of new / repaired equipment for MWD, LWD, VTK, CTK & ATK on a daily basis, which would include • Ensuring that the most recent revision documentation is available for technician use • MaPs is active and kept up to date. 8. Ensure that appropriate documentation is maintained on each component. Prepare records in a manner to ensure accountability of all items being tracked, whether for historical or engineering reasons. 9. In conjunction with QA/QC, review all intermediate and final test results to ensure that specifications are met. Substitute for QA/QC when needed. 10. Monitor and react, in conjunction with the regional technical trainer, to on-going training and development needs of the Technicians 11. As directed by the Regional R&M Manager and/or General Manager, assist the R&M / Operations department achieve their ongoing objectives. 12. Substitute for Regional R&M Manager when necessary e.g. during vacation leave, weekends or evening work schedules. 13. Interface with local Reliability Engineering group to ensure adequate processes are in place to allow for effective implementation of corrective actions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education / Experience • A minimally qualified candidate will have an Associates degree (or equivalent) with a technical emphasis. A highly preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), with optimum focus in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Business acumen. • 10+ years experience in repair and maintenance and/or manufacturing environment. 5+ years supervisory experience. Technical Skills: • Ability to work from engineering drawings and formal work procedure documents. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, electronic schematics, and parts lists Other Skills / Requirements • Understanding of production process techniques to meet customer demand. • Have the necessary interpersonal skills to deal with pressure situations. • Good problem solving and time management skills • Good oral and written communication skills. • Goal oriented with the ability to work on own initiative. • A team player with a strong sense of responsibility. • Good disciplinary record, time keeping, attendance, flexibility, involvement, commitment, and attitude. • Effective practical word processing and general computing skillsTechnical Skills: • Ability to work from engineering drawings and formal work procedure documents.• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, electronic schematics, and parts listsOther Skills / Requirements• Understanding of production process techniques to meet customer demand.• Have the necessary interpersonal skills to deal with pressure situations.• Good problem solving and time management skills • Good oral and written communication skills.• Goal oriented with the ability to work on own initiative. • A team player with a strong sense of responsibility.• Good disciplinary record, time keeping, attendance, flexibility, involvement, commitment, and attitude.• Effective practical word processing and general computing skillsBenefits:This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
