Position Description:Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting applications for a Reservoir Engineer – West Texas Gas Asset Development, located in Houston, Texas.Overview:Chevron’s West Texas Gas assets span multiple counties in the Permian Basin. The assets are primarily tight gas production with some oil production. This Reservoir Engineering position will provide the required engineering support, leadership and management for the future development of the West Texas Gas assets to extract the most value to Chevron, and may be responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring Horizons Engineers assigned to the team. Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Work on reservoir engineering and project management activities associated with development projects. • Provide reservoir characterizations, reserve/resources assessments, performance predictions, design and evaluation. • Update/generate development plans for the field to include the anticipated timing of each project, anticipated resource requirements (capital and people), and the expected production forecast.• Lead, manage and mentor Horizons Engineers assigned to the team.• Focus on essential work to reach timely decisions and create value in the business.Required Qualifications:• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Petroleum Engineering. A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering will be considered.• A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.• Demonstrated ability in reservoir characterization and performance analysis: volumetric calculations, decline curve analysis, material balance methods, basic formation evaluation, basic/special core analysis, well testing, pressure transient analysis and interference testing, advanced decline curve analysis, etc. • Familiarity with flow simulation methods. • Familiarity with Production Engineering and Geologic principles.• Demonstrated skills in depletion/development planning and project management/business acumen. • Demonstrated proficiency in reserves estimation and management, production forecasting, and economic modeling and decision analysis methods and modeling.• Demonstrated leadership/mentor/teamwork skills including communication, leading change, shaping performance, and continuous learning and networking skills. • Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, reservoir management plans, development proposals, and economic evaluations. • Solid verbal, written, and oral presentation skills, along with the ability to develop effective presentations to support recommendations.• Demonstrated proficiency or exposure to tight gas reservoirs, production, completions, fracture characterization and/or horizontal wells.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations:Expatriate assignments will be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Houston, TX 77002 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
