Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Reservoir Engineer - Kettleman located in Bakersfield, California.Overview:The Reservoir Engineer will be a member of the Kettleman Hills Asset Development team within the West Central California Area. This role will be responsible for the redevelopment of reservoirs within the Kettleman Hills Asset. Chevron recently acquired operatorship and full working interest in the Kettleman asset. Initial efforts will focus on developing a data gathering and appraisal program while building development concepts. Responsible for identification of primary well locations for reservoir characterization and development of secondary recovery projects (gas injection, waterflood or combination), reservoir surveillance and optimization. Will work directly with technical teams and Drilling and Completions to construct and execute development plans.Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Provide reservoir engineering technical expertise for development of primary and new secondary recovery projects. • Provide reservoir characterization, reserves/resources assessments. • Evaluate development alternatives, performance predictions, pilot design and evaluation.Required Qualifications:• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering preferred).• Ten plus years of Reservoir Engineering experience, including reservoir characterization, gas injection or waterflood development, well test analysis, log analysis and PVT and fluid analysis.• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively on a cross-functional project team.• Experience on major capital projects including alternative evaluation, decision analysis, as well as field development, surveillance and project execution planning.Preferred Qualifications:• A Master's Degree in Engineering.• The ability to clearly convey concepts and project information verbally, in presentations and reports with all levels of the organization.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations:Expatriate assignments will be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Central Valley, CA 93311 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
