Regulatory Attorney – In House Opportunity

 

This is an exciting opportunity for the experienced lawyer to work in a growing in-house legal department at one of the world’s leading energy companies.  The position provides regulatory legal support in the nature of counseling, drafting, negotiating, and transactional assistance to the corporation’s wind business unit.

 

Job duties will include:

 

•Advising as to the relevant laws and regulations applicable to wind transactions;

 

•Assisting in the management of the corporation’s participation in FERC and other regulatory bodies and government organizations, as well as managing outside counsel;

 

•Advising clients regarding FERC reporting requirements;

 

•Working with the clients to help them monitor and evaluate proposed regulations and their impact on the client's business, and proactively informing the business clients of any such impact; and

 

This position offers excellent exposure and opportunity to collaborate with other members of the legal department, therefore, the ideal candidate will have excellent management capabilities.  The applicant should be also have experience in the handling of electric regulatory matters relating to power issues, including transmission related regulatory issues.
