Reactor Services Field Service Tech - Level II
Reactor Services based out of the Waltz Mill site located in Madison, PA is seeking a Level II Field Services Technician. The Westinghouse Waltz Mill Site presently quarters more than 500 engineers, technicians and service support personnel. It is the Center of Excellence for field service technology, steam generator services, plant services and training.This field service technician will be responsible for the following:1. Set up, operate, maintain & troubleshoot reactor systems field service equipment at customer sites, using but not limited to Plant installed equipment, cleaning processes, non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, repair technology &d computer networks.2. Perform Service Center support functions including but not limited to service equipment maintenance & check out, equipment & facility decontamination, equipment packing & unpacking, shipment preparations, material handling & calibration activities. Perform detailed review of operational maintenance procedures & drawings. Provide input for procedural revision.3. Provide support to product engineering & training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup & testing, mockup preparation, process testing, & equipment & process qualifications. Accruately document equipment performance issues during field implementation, & ensure corrective actions are complete prior to next scheduled use.4. Perform all assigned tasks with minimal supervision, with a high degree of quality, & within the parameters of qualified procedures & guidelines. Maintain a high level of attention to detail, & document all quality related issues.5. Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire & maintain certifications as well as keep current with technology & procedures. Contribute to training program development & instruction as required.6. Supervise assigned projects & small teams with predetermined goals, demonstrating leadership skills. Assume Resource Lead responsibilities.7. Practice ALARA principles & a "Safety First" attitude as an integral part of all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas.8. Exercise & promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers & other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity & customer service skills. Maintain a focus on creative problem solving.9. This position requires extensive travel (50%-70%), maintenance of "Unescorted Access" status,& working with hazardous materials.The successful candidate will have the following:EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:High school graduate or the recognized equivalent plus 2 year, post high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience. Specific knowledge & training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical curriculum as required as well as knowledge of algebraic formula.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:3-5 years related experience, plus meet or exceed minimum critical skill qualifications as defined by the skill matrix. Additional experience may be substituted for formal education.*Years of related experience may be accelerated through demonstration of critical skills.
