Quality Engineer

Position In this position you will work independently and also with other SolarWorld personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine tasks in our Module Assembly environment. You will also troubleshoot problems, repair failures of production equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include being assigned equipment sets to improve utilization and report weekly on equipment status and improvements that are being carried out. Primary responsibilities for this position include: Devises sample inspection protocol, conducts product evaluation testing, tabulates data, creates and modifies procedures, product criteria, work instructions, and interprets policies, goals and objectives related to the maintenance and enforcement of the quality system. Facilitate compliance to all quality requirements in regards to deliverable materials, incoming materials, and other activities that may affect material, product, or process quality. Analyze process control and inspection data for trends, variation, and improvement opportunities. Leads and assists in internal quality system and process audits. Conducts finished goods product audits, write reports, and provides recommendations and guidance for improvement activities. Participation and sharing of responsibilities associated with supplier quality management, including supplier evaluations, reporting, scorecards. Requirements The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: A minimum of a 4-year degree in a technical discipline or equivalent A minimum 5-8 years experience in a manufacturing environment of which 4 years must have been in the quality engineering capacity. Advanced knowledge of statistical concepts and experimental design. ISO9001-2000 quality system audit experience with the skills and knowledge to lead internal audits. Past experience leading quality process efforts.
