As one of the Sales and Service Business Units for Vestas Wind Systems, Vestas American is responsible for the sale and service of wind turbines throughout North America.
We are currently seeking new Project Resource Supervisors who will plan, organize, and manage the integrated administrative operations/implementation of projects within the Technical Resources in the Field Operations group.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervises at 25-50 Resource Technicians.
2. Supervises department administrative assistants
3. Update Tracker for all technical resources.
4. Plan and maintain schedules and week plan together with the CIM + Blade group.
5. Manages resources in concert with Construction Managers and Project Managers.
6. Forecasts resource demands for projects according to delivery plan from Main Planning.
7. Establish resource requirements to complete projects.
8. Schedule resources for technical projects.
9. Schedule all necessary and needed training for all resources in the group
10. Maintain the Tech progression for all technicians
11. Perform appraisals and Performance and Develop Dialogs for all technicians together with direct manager and CM’s.
12. Interacts with vendors and sub contractors.
13. Identifies and procures outside contract labor on an as needed basis.
14. Assists and maintain budget development for the resource group.
15. Tracks activity, maintains records of billable work, reports weekly and monthly budget reports and progress of operations.
16. Reviews and approves working time for payroll purposes.
17. Reviews resumes, conducts interviews, and completes new hire paperwork.
18. Serves as liaison with corporate office regarding employee issues; directs employees to the appropriate corporate resources.
19. Travels 10-25%.
Education, Training & Skills Required:
§ Associates degree or equivalent.
§ Minimum 2 years experience as project manager, project lead, or other supervisory/management experience, especially in industrial or construction industry.
§ Minimum 2 years of experience in general office administration.
§ Mechanical, electrical, hydraulics background.
§ Experience with and ability to coordinate and manage projects.
§ Ability to speak and understand technical language.
§ Familiarity with general bookkeeping.
§ Strong computer skills.
§ Strong organizational skills.
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Scope:
§ Decision-Making: Some independent decision-making; makes recommendations; others take action; performs work under moderately high level of supervision.
§ Impact: Moderate impact. Results of this job could cause loss to the company. May impact monthly results.
§ Supervisory Authority: Supervises up to 50 employees.
§ Budget Management: Budgetary accountability together with direct manager.
§ Interaction: regularly interacts with personnel in the same department, in other departments and with customers.
