Position Overview:Chevron Business and Real Estate Services (CBRES) is accepting online applications for the position of a Project Representative Electrical located in Richmond, CA.The Project Representative Electrical will manage multiple projects through Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) phases 1-5 for the CBRES Design Engineering and Construction Electrical team. Projects will typically be capital & expense upgrades to Chevron Office or laboratory facilities and infrastructure. Responsibilities include providing team safety guidance, overall project management leadership; championing the application of CPDEP (Gated Capital Decision Process) principles; and driving the behaviors necessary to ensure high level decision quality and top quartile cost and schedule performance. Provides work direction to less experienced team members. Coordinates activities across multiple disciplines. Perform peer review and peer assist for projects with electrical systems & control systems impacts. Apply Chevron principles for capital stewardship.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Coordinates all work from conception to completion of multiple projects, including design, procurement, construction and start-up activities• Establishes objectives and expectations for implementation of all necessary Chevron Project Development and Execution Processes and tools, including obtaining "Best Practical" FEL and Cost Index scores, develop staffing plans for projects, setting direction for experienced contract and technical personnel, producing purchase and service orders, developing project objectives for safety, schedule, cost and operability. • Performing peer reviews for electrical designs completed by other Company and contract engineers both on-site and at two other Bay Area locations. Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering• Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices.• Knowledge of facilities and integration of project work in operating facilities.• Travel within the San Francisco Bay Area is required.• Understanding of Electrical and control system design, working knowledge of National electrical code NFPA70 and knowledge of Chevron Electrical Safe Work Practices is required.• Experience in managing office facility, building, laboratory, and/or electrical system improvement projects are required.• Ability to build a committed project team. Able to proactively champion capital and expense project management issues and see them through to completion.• Ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision.• Self-motivated with the ability to originate and adapt to new ideas. • Able to plan and organize projects from inception to completion including start up• Understanding of gated decision-making process for projects critical. Able to handle multiple activities simultaneously.• Good understanding of basic business principles and their application to projects (i.e life cycle cost, ROCE, IRR, NPV cash flow analysis).• Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to work well with others in cross-functional teams. Able to communicate ideas to a wide range of groups within the operating facility. • Effectively interfaces with facilities personnel, O&M, tenants, construction contractors, and management to complete projects on time and on budget to meet business objectives. Ability to seek out customer's needs and prioritize own work accordingly.• Demonstrates role model behavior supporting the Chevron Way principles and values including support for safety, diversity, leadership, teamwork, and customer focus. Creates and promotes an environment of trust and teamwork through actions and own behaviors. Facilitates dialogue & possesses strong listening skills.Preferred Qualifications:• Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or MBA is ideal.• PE or in process of obtaining PE preferred.• Experience in capital project work desirable. • Knowledge of the planning/business side of facilities operations is desirable.
