Project Planner -- Construction

As one of the Sales and Service Business Units for Vestas Wind Systems, Vestas American is responsible for the sale and service of wind turbines throughout North America.
As our Project Planner you will provide project planning/scheduling support within Primavera to enable Project Management to effectively manage projects.
Specific tasks for this position will include but are not limited to:
1. Provide up front planning, resource loading and leveling, progress reporting, updated schedule and cost information and analysis of Project trends in schedule and cost, thus enabling management to make informed decisions.
2. Provide Project Management with analysis and subsequent recommendations as to potential problem areas, possible work-around, etc.
3. Support management with recommendations on methods, core processes, etc.
4. Create project execution schedules (design, procurement, delivery, construction).
5. Support Proposal group with pre-contract proposal schedules (summary or detailed).
6. Support site construction activities with updated construction schedules and analysis, and interface with various Project Subcontractors to coordinate schedule integration.
7. Interface with clients to support their planning and scheduling requirements.
Interested candidates must meet the minimum qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years experience with Project Controls (dealing with schedules) required.
· Experience in an engineering, construction, and/or operations environment required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
· Knowledge of Primavera P3, P5, or P6 software required.
· SQL programming desired.
· PMI or AACE certification desired.
· Working experience with fossil power plants is a plus.
· Knowledge of SAP desirable.
· Ability to travel required (approx. 10-20%)
