Civil & Structural Engineering;Electrical/Electronics Engineering;Energy/Nuclear Engineering Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Industry: Energy and Utilities Job Ref Code: 070778 PacifiCorp is one of the lowest-cost electricity producers in the United States, providing more than 1.6 million customers with reliable, efficient energy.Project Manager, Engineering/Operations With little to no supervision, manages the planning, siting, permitting, design, and construction of transmission line, distribution line, substation, communications, and other transmission and distribution capital projects.  Responsibilities for this position include the following:  Manage multiple projects and matrix, cross-functional project teams from assignment to closeout and ensure that all phases of projects meet approved safety, cost, schedule, and quality requirements. Ability to operate the SAP Project Systems Module. (New hires must complete Project Systems Module training).  Maintain an active interface with stakeholders and assure their criteria and objectives are met. Align project team members to these criteria and objectives; keeping stakeholders fully aware of the progress, changes, and other major decisions.  Plan, assemble, organize, supervise, and maintain a project management team to successfully execute all phases of projects. Administer all policies and procedures associated with project personnel. Define and manage interfaces with senior management, business units, regulators, contractors, vendors, customers, and auditors on assigned projects. Plan, schedule, and execute all phases of projects in accordance with project management processes, policies and guidelines. Determine the degree of detailed planning and risk assessment necessary within the defined project management processes to effectively manage projects.  Develop contracting and material procurement strategies in conjunction with the Procurement Department that optimize cost, schedule, and quality considerations while managing the company risk. Negotiate terms, conditions, technical specifications and changes to contracts and agreements with support from the Procurement Department. Establish project controls for assigned projects and ensure implementation to evaluate critical elements of the work and identify forecasted variances from plan so that corrective action can be taken in a timely manner. Stay abreast of new and emerging project management processes, tools, and techniques within the industry and provide recommendations on best practices/processes and to share lesson’s learned from projects for better project delivery. Accountable for miscellaneous other responsibilities as assigned or required.  Requirements for this position include the following: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, construction management or other related technical degree and/or equivalent education and experience. 10 + years of related project management experience. (WILL ACCEPT CANDIDATES WITH LESS THAN 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE; COMPENSATION WILL BE COMMENSURATE WITH APPROPRIATE GRADE LEVEL) Current PMP Certification and ongoing education to remain certified. (WILL CONSIDER CANDIDATES WITHOUT THE PMP CERTIFICATION; BUT MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN 1 YEAR AFTER HIRE) Must be available for travel. Must be willing to spend considerable time at project sites during construction. Must have valid driver's license.Preference will be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following: Masters of Business degree, and/or Professional Engineer license. Project/Technical/Operational/Construction Management experience on electric utility projects.
