National Grid leverages the skills and experience of all employees and our organizational culture inspires creativity in every employee.  As a Program Manger you will be primarily responsible for  generating and analyzing project resource, outage, and material forecasts for Distribution & Sub-transmission substation project lifecycles using Project Management software (Primavera P5), while coordinating analyst staff to ensure timely and accurate station project updates, developing business reports that make schedule adjustment recommendations to Project Managers, Management and Business Customers, in addition to facilitating with Construction, engineering, and Project Managers to perform project resource and schedule projects, supporting project spending forecasts and continuously synchronize against associated Work Plan schedules, assisting Construction, Engineering and Project Managers with contract strategy to levelize resources. Job Qualification A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering with a minimum of three year’s experience or equivalent. Project or construction management experience desirable.Knowledge of power system equipment, interconnections, project lifecycle and electrical theory also desirable.Ability to reconcile and synchronize budget lifecycles against projects. Advanced analytical skills with competencies to transfer data between software systems, and ability to develop  complex business reports in project management systems and other software tools.  Understanding of Primavera P5, Power Plant, STORMS, Business Objects & Gatekeeper.Advanced skills with other software packages including Microsoft Office suite or equivalent, and Web-based, midrange and mainframe applications.Demonstrated high level of personal initiative and ability to interact with company personnel and contractors in a positive team-building manner.Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects.Ability to travel to divisional offices and other locations. Please be aware that this position will ultimately be moving to our new location in Waltham, MA; this move is anticipated in summer 2009.
