Product Specialist – Proposals COOPER POWER SYSTEMS Lincoln Avenue, Waukesha, WI     Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, is a diversified worldwide supplier of electrical distribution equipment.  Cooper Power Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer at our Lumberton, MS plant several Product Specialists in our proposals group at our Lincoln Ave Customer Support Center.     .   Position Title: Product Specialist – Proposals Reports to: Customer Support Manager – Utilities Customer Support     Position Summary:  As part of the Marketing Sales Team, tThe Product Specialist will perform detaileds specification reviews and develop quotations per customer specifications and RFQs.  Orders will be processed for in-house and external quotations.  Because of the diversity of the department and process contacts required, this position can provide career advancement/cross-training opportunities to interested individuals.     POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: -Meeting Proposal team’s daily goals forper customer-required deadlines -Answer technical questions from the customer and sales force -Support product training for field sales rep/agent training on new products and applications -Meet with customers at the factory when requested by Marketing -Conduct customer tours through the factories to review product scope, manufacturing facilities and the associated processes when requested by Marketing -Visit key customers and distributors to cultivate relationships and understand customer needs when requested by Marketing -Identify business improvement opportunities and recommend changes to management -Assist in analyzing application trends, product trends, and the market potential for product innovation -Conduct audits of bills of materials based on customer specified requirements and divisional capabilities -Understand transformer test requirements, factory testing, and customer data reporting -Help maintain ISO 9000 procedures and work instructions for the proposals area -Perform special projects as assigned     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical, and 2-5 years experience in marketing or a technical field.  Knowledge of electric power distribution transformers and their components and accessories and a knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems and standards is a plus.  Must have excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate.  Must be very detail oriented, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.  Must have computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Office tools and utilize the computer to analyze and solve routine problems.       Cooper Power Systems offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes a matching 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, and many other benefits.     Cooper Power Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer     All applicants will be considered, and selection will be based on qualifications without regard to race, gender, color, age, religion, national original, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or any other category protected by law.  Cooper Power Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
