Maintain the associated controllers and applications. Work with database and security administration, data networking and communications, personal computing, voice communications and associated hardware. Responsibilities: Evaluate, install, design, develop, test, and maintain computer programs/systems required for business, mine operations applications, mine-wide process control, internal/corporate communications systems, and other related computing systems. Maintain system availability and performance, and ensure resource data backup and retention is performed. Test computer programs and systems for accuracy of model solutions. Construct leading-edge business, mining operation and control systems models. Provide mine-wide training and assistance to mine entity personnel for all computing systems. Keep abreast of developments in software and hardware engineering, making recommendations to management on proposed or required system modification. Follow standards, procedures and guidelines for the efficient and cost-effective use of administrative, operational and process control/SCADA support software and hardware. Provide up-to-date documentation required to meet corporate standards of application development. Analyze existing systems for automation and improvements. Provide technical assistance in installation, maintenance and modification of all systems. Effectively communicate proposed installation, upgrades and/or modifications of systems to management and users. Provide daily operational support for process control applications with after hours phone support. Desk-top support to personal computer users. Keep abreast of current developments in data management, software engineering and business entity operations technology. Plan, schedule, review, and perform analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation of assigned application and operation systems. Confer with user representatives and information services personnel regarding new or modifications of current application systems. Provide direction, coordination, training, design, development, and problem resolution support to mine monitor operators and maintenance personnel on the use of underground mining SCADA systems and process control systems. Provide support in SCADA database maintenance, display maintenance, and operational testing. Provide support regarding data, voice, and control systems where requested. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or electronics with some business background or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-5 years experience in any of the areas of programming analysis, systems design, development, operating systems, hardware installation/maintenance, local area networks,programming languages, database management, security management, SCADA, systems, and telecommunications. General knowledge of the mining industry, and company policies and practices. General knowledge of computer applications, to include problem or project analysis, installation and maintenance of application and operating systems. General knowledge of data processing methods, capabilities of data processing equipment, characteristics of various computer languages, data management system design and programming. Working knowledge and previous experience with development of process control systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills and technical problem solving skills. Preferred additional skills: Demonstrate supervisory skills. Demonstrate ability to work independently on projects. Preferred additional skills: Microsoft applications, SQL, Intellution/SCADA, Allen Bradley /PLC programming and setup, Mining systems, LAN/WAN management, Server Management.
