Principal Structural/Piping Engineer

This is an expat position that will be located in Haiyang, China.Westinghouse Electric Company, located in Haiyang, China is seeking a Structural/Piping Engineer in its Nuclear Power Plants department.It is within this Business Unit that developed the AP1000 design, the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available in the worldwide commercial market place.In this position, a Structural/Piping Engineer can expect to perform the following duties:- Resolve design issues with both piping and structural components. - Provide on-shore technical interface with the customer on various piping and structural engineering matters related to the design and construction of the AP1000 units at Haiyang.- Coordinate interfaces between WEC technical team (on-shore and at the home office) and the customers technical team on the resolution of complex piping and structural engineering issues.- Interface with various Chinese fabricators (e.g., Structural and Equipment Modules) to resolve engineering and design issues.- Reconcile piping and structural design variations. - Investigate and resolve fit-up or sequencing problems in relation to the approved design.- Provide on-shore support for the disposition of Nonconformance reports.- Resolve procurement related piping and structural equipment changes.- Answer information requests from Construction/Startup groups.- Review construction procedures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.- Ensure that systematic controls are in place to ensure the design and construction activities are performed using the latest applicable design documentation- Ensure proper and frequent communications between all parties in regards to engineering related issues.A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:- A bachelor's degree in engineering- Experience in the nuclear industry- Experience in managing complex and expensive projects Westinghouse technology is the basis for nearly half of the world's nuclear power plants.
