Principal Marketing Engineer

Westinghouse Electric Company located in Madison, PA is seeking a Principal Marketing Engineer for its Nuclear Field Services Marketing department.This role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:*Lead, plan, direct, prepare, structure and negotiate teaming arrangements for proposals that incorporate bids for multiple business units and companies for high value contracts involving complex technical, commercial, and contract issues. Efforts will require the ability to review bidder rfq specifications. Obtain and coordinate required technical, commercial, and legal resources and inputs from multiple groupsDetermine and evaluate risks and risk reduction options using real-time risk management analysis; recognize and analyze unusual competitor threatsEstablish competitive price and evaluate profitability (risk/reward) and identify and resolve problem areas. Must also use skills to obtain management approval and persuade management to approve customer offers while working with customers to understand their needs and expectations and assure their responsiveness to proposals.Recommend specific technical and commercial actions to increase market share by defining customer requirements and market needsEstablishing pricing/commercial strategies and evaluating the benefits, value, and potential for strategic products and services. Coordinate technical objectives, direct initial marketing efforts, and lead and direct development of new products and services.Identify and evaluate industry cost/price bandwidths and trends and recommend tactical and strategic pricing policies. Devise innovative new pricing structures to meet changing market situations. Lead special profit improvement programs.Lead and direct strategic market analysis programs for introducing products/services into new markets and repositioning in existing markets and provide specialized market analysis expertise as required.Perform strategic planning through identification, screening, and risk analysis of potential candidates for acquisition, joint ventures, teaming arrangements, licensing, and equity investment and provide support to evaluations and negotiations related to teaming arrangements and joint ventures.Advise management on alternatives for improving marginally performing products by utilizing in-depth commercial expertise and analytical capabilities.Lead business, investment and risk analysis efforts.May also be asked to resolve problem areas in commercial and pricing systems, practices, and processes; to prepare commercial and pricing guidelines and policies for management approval; and/or to analyze and recommend changes to existing commercial and pricing policies.A successful candidate will possess and/or have knowledge of the following:*Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical area *MBA a plus*10+ years of relevant experience*Candidate may be required to travel to domestic and international sites Prior Marketing Engineering with experience leading a product line is preferred Power generation and/or manufacturing industry experience preferredExperience with sub-suppliers, interface with organizations not under your own corporate umbrella preferredExcellent written/verbal communication skill required Westinghouse technology is the basis for nearly half of the world's nuclear power plants.
