We are seeking candidates for Principal Corrosion Research Engineer. The position will include working with a team of materials and corrosion specialists on engineering, failure analysis, and applied research projects for client companies in the petroleum, petrochemical, transportation, and aerospace industries.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Liaison with clients to assess their corrosion testing needs and write a proposal to perform corrosion testingTechnical oversight of projects involving lab testing and evaluation including coordinating with technical staffReview and evaluate project data, summarize and write a report based on the results of the program Most Frequent Contacts ExternalProcess and petroleum industry customers, trade groups (NACE, API, MTI, etc) InternalCorrosion Consulting Engineering, IT Services, Lab TechniciansExperience performing corrosion testing, electrochemical testing, mechanical testing, and metallography in the petroleum and process industry.Must have at least 5 years of experience involving commercial research and engineering involving corrosion prevention, materials selection and metallurgical processing preferably in the oil and gas industryTechnical oversight of corrosion testing in the lab, coordinate tests with technical staff, review and interpret data, project reporting Professional Skills:
Client Liaison experience.Ability to work with clients to design a testing, evaluation or consulting program based on their corrosion needs.Project Management methodology experience.Must have excellent technical writing skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Handle tasks with multiple priorities.Excellent communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Corrosion Science or related fieldMaster's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Corrosion Science.Minimum of 5 years of experience involving commercial research and engineering involving corrosion prevention, materials selection and metallurgical processing preferably in the oil and gas industryMinimum of 3 years of experience in project management. Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent technical writing skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Handle tasks with multiple priorities.Excellent communication skills.
