Power Systems Engineer -Network Applications
Are you a Power Systems Graduate Student interested in working on innovative software solutions for one of the top three global players in the Transmission & Distribution of energy? Areva TD in Redmond is currently hiring a Power Systems Engineer for our Network Applications team. AREVA T&D Power System Engineer will be responsible for advanced power systems engineering assignments involving software development and/or delivery in a designated technical area in support of AREVA's EMS and/or market system projects. This position is responsible for: Responsibilities: Develops advanced network applications such as state estimation, contingency analysis, security enhancement, stability (transient and voltage) assessment for large-scale power systems. Advanced software development and successful delivery of assigned functions. Performs works on specification, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software for one or more functions of a technical area. Interacts with technical leads to ensure that project-related system design guidelines are being followed Provides input to technical lead on schedules and cost estimates. Interfaces with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise. Provides limited marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers. . All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Bid Manager opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position. MSEE with thesis or related work in power systems, computer science or equivalent work experience. (new graduates are encouraged to apply) Good understanding of power systems and/or energy management systems. Good programming experience in C++ and/or Java and familiarity with basic database operations. Basic experience in software design, development and/or integration. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
