Power Engineer
Company involved with the Engineering & Construction of Power Plant & Steam Plant design projects is looking for a Power/Process Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Biomass Power Plants. You need specific project engineering & design experience working for an EPC or A&E firm involved in steam & power plant system design projects (coal fired, wood fired, cogeneration, pulp & paper, combined heat & power, & similar boiler related projects). Your main responsibilities will be initial process design for sales proposals, final process design, and support of project engineering and project management. You need a BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. An EIT or PE would be a plus. You need to have some experience using AutoCAD software (not an expert, but you need to know how to move around in the software). You need experience with general arrangement (GA) drawings and P&IDs. You will be responsible for equipment sizing and selection. You will be working with equipment layout, piping designs, & duct designs on new and existing steam & power generating facilities. You should have some experience writing equipment specifications for many of the following: pumps, material handling systems, ash handling systems, boilers, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, compressed air systems, turbine generators, & piping systems. You should expect to travel up to 25% out in the field.
This is a contract position. Possibly contract to permanent for the right candidate.
