Summary

Oracle Applications DBA:   Responsible for systems administration duties in an Oracle Applications eBusiness Suite database environment.  Work as a team member on technical functions associated with creating and maintaining databases; database cloning; performance and tuning analysis; capacity planning; applications support and optimization; problem resolution tracking; software upgrades; change control processes; and disaster recovery procedures and solutions. 

 

Essential Functions Oracle Database Administration and Oracle eBusiness suite Database AdministrationInstall, patch, and maintain Oracle Applications and databases in a multi-tier environmentInstall, configure and tune web and application serversUnderstand and promote technical changes and new product releasesBalance and assign priority to multiple tasksInteface with Auditors for SOX controlsCapacity Planning and Database reorganizationPerform application refreshes of test environmentsDevelop and maintain backup/recovery processesParticipates in defining and implementing data securityPerform ad-hoc queries, reports, and other duties as necessary Monitor and resolve issues with DataMart Materialized View refresh processes

Skills and Abilities Required: Experience or familiarity with Oracle Financials (AP,AR,GL) and database 10g.Experience with supporting Oracle HR, HR Self-Service, iRecruitment, and OID a big plus.Excellent performance tuning and trouble-shooting skills for the eBusiness suite environmentKnowledge and experience with Oracle Materialized Views (MV’s)Ability to multi-task and  be self-directedKnowledge and understanding of Application ArchitecturesSolid understanding of networking and distributed computing conceptsKnowledge of Oracle, including programming and ways to optimize codeExperience in database monitoring, database migration, and replicationAbility to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needsAbility to work as a team with other administration disciplines to form working, unified, knowledge core in IT

Working conditions Normal office environment and remote accessPart of a 24X7 on call support team

 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience required. Minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience as Oracle DBA and Oracle Applications DBA Strong analytical, problem solving, teamwork and customer support skills required.Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users, peers and management and provide technical leadership as needed.Experience with Oil and Gas Industry applications such as P2 Energy Systems, Landmark and Arc/SDE would be a plus
