Oilfield Equipment Buyer

We are currently seeking an Oilfield Equipment Buyer for our Aldine Westfield warehouse located near Bush IAH in Houston, TX.
This position is responsible for coordinating, managing and maintaining the procurement of capital and expense goods and services in support of Key’s international business divisions. Work includes all aspects of vendor qualification, requests for quotation, supplier selection and purchase to payment, including interaction with our offices in South America and Mexico. Knowledge of onshore oilfield equipment and tools (BOP, derrick, etc) a MUST.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serving as primary point of contact for coordinating purchases of higher dollar goods and services Coordinating with end users to identify and specify requirements, and selecting the appropriate sourcing strategy for the purchases need Soliciting competitive proposals from qualified suppliers, negotiating best price, preparing bid summaries for analysis and recommending lowest total cost solutions for Procurement Manager approval Developing, maintaining and managing purchase orders for goods and services in support of the division and locations Performing expediting as required to assure purchase order delivery schedule is met and suppliers are meeting contractual criteria Managing supplier performance for purchased products, ensuring all aspects of the purchase to payment process are maintained in a timely and cost effective manner Measuring and monitoring compliance to National Purchase Agreements and documents results Providing guidance and assistance to the supply category strategic sourcing team efforts as necessary Providing support to the supplier audit processes for selected suppliers and contractors Keeping abreast of relevant knowledge of supply base and pre-qualify supply sources to assure market competitiveness Working under limited supervision to review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within limited scope
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics, or equivalent work experience Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in purchasing, materials management, contract management or a related job function Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the area of purchasing and proven savings results Prior experience with ERP solutions (Procurement module) desired Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and be responsive to needs of end users Strong verbal and written communications including negotiation and analytical skills Good computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Prior experience in the use of strategic sourcing processes for well service goods and services desirable Bilingual in speaking and writing of Spanish and English a plus
