Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown New Jersey location: Forked River Exelon Nuclear has an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Fuel Buyer at our Cantera offices in Warrenville, Illinois. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Develop and implement long-term strategic plans and day to day administration of the four segments (uranium, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication) of nuclear fuel procurement and contracting. Minimization of fuel costs, as measured by fuel cost goals, while successfully managing all risks involved to Exelon and accommodating plant operational issues. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Develop long-term strategy and implement fuel procurement plans to minimize cost and manage risk using thorough understanding of nuclear fuel market factors affecting supply, demand, and price. 2. Administer contracts and negotiate/settle disputes to minimize overall cost including the identification and implementation of any contract options, flexibilities, or other opportunities. 3. Provide fuel costs (actual and projected) for the business planning process and financial reporting, incorporating current contract portfolio and projected market behavior. 4. Plan, execute, and manage special projects and litigations. 5. Ensure all contracting activities meet all legal, financial, and corporate policies, and minimize risk to Exelon. 6. Develop negotiation strategies and negotiate new contracts with suppliers to minimize cost and coordinate activities with technical personnel as appropriate. 7. Interact with internal and external organizations to provide nuclear fuel information for any audits, lawsuits, financial reporting, or other reasons, including any nuclear power plant co-owners. REQUIREMENTS: . BS and/or BA in engineering or business . 10 years professional-level experience in technical or commercial field within the nuclear industry . Engineering economics or other formal financial training Preferred: . Degree in Nuclear Engineering MBA or other advanced business degree .
