Nuclear Development Civil/Structural Eng'g Manager

PSEG Nuclear LLC is the second largest Nuclear Power facility in the U.S.  Our Plants, Salem Units I & II (PWR Plants) and Hope Creek (BWR Plant) are located in Southern NJ on the Delaware River just 25 minutes from the state of Delaware and 45 minutes from Philadelphia.  We are the one commercial nuclear power plant in the country that has two technologies (PWR and BWR) and the nuclear corporate organization in a single location. We’re also exploring development of additional nuclear generation.  We are looking for a Civil/Structural Engineering Manager for our New Nuclear Development team. 

The Civil/Structural Engineering Mangager will:Serve as the primary PSEG subject matter expert on all civil and/or structural engineering issues that directly or indirectly relate to successful development of nuclear generation at PSEG. Oversee internal and external resources, including but not limited to PSEG’s owner’s engineer and technology vendor resources, to evaluate all aspects of advanced nuclear reactor systems and make determinations and recommendations regarding licensing, construction and cost. Be responsible for ensuring that civil/structural designs and construction meet established engineering standards and comply with applicable license and permit requirements. Be responsible for all site testing and modification related to choosing, licensing or constructing new nuclear generation for PSEG. Participate in and lead industry evaluation and deployment of advanced nuclear reactor technology in the U.S. Work directly with internal and external subject matter experts to evaluate and make recommendations on all aspects of civil / structural design relating to advanced nuclear reactor technology, including site evaluation and preparation. Provide support to all licensing and permitting efforts. Oversee efforts of PSEG Owner’s Engineer Interface with existing operations. Prepare updates to initiative steering committee and Executive Officer Group. Work with new nuclear development team to identify issues to be elevated to steering committee and EOG and to recommend solutions. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

Requirements: BS Degree (Civil or Structural Engineering) and a minimum of 15 years experience, with at least 10 years of experience in commercial nuclear operations PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Meet Nuclear’s requirements for unescorted plant access
