Job Status/Type: Full Time, Employee Shift: Third Shift (Night) Industry: Energy and Utilities Reference Code: GOE08.0220 Occupations: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Education: High School or equivalent About the Opportunity This position directs and supervises employees engaged in complex construction, maintenance, repair, testing and operation of Transmission & Distribution facilities, and office and service buildings. Responsbilities include: *Monitor the activities of employees and enforce compliance with established work practices and methods (Preferred Practices Manual, Accident Prevention Handbook, Safety Specifications and Construction Standards). *Implement instruction and training of section employees in the established work practices and methods utilized throughout the department. *Request and coordinate the availability of necessary equipment tools, materials and supplies required. *Coordinate work with other departments and schedule construction, maintenance, repair or test work. *Monitor and document work habits. *Counsel employees, recommend corrective actions required to meet performance standards and acknowledge good work and work habits. *Administer Company and Regional Absenteeism Management Program and Regional Safety Plan. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent as well as specialized training or equivalent work experience. An advanced level of knowledge and experience in operations, repair and construction of assigned Transmission and Distribution area. Knowledge of applied electricity to include AC and DC electrical circuits and equipment. Knowledge of Industry prefered practices and methods and the construction standards relating to T&D facilities. Thorough knowledge of Industry Safety Standards: e.g., General Safety Specifications, Accident Prevention Handbook,and the clearance and switching control procedures in the System Operations Department Manual of Operations. Ability to learn various computer mainframe applications(CREWS, SAP, POWERON) and PC applications to include Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. Ability to make field drawings as required. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in unknown environments and travel over undeveloped terrain as needed.
