Exelon Nuclear operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world, which represents approximately 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear industry's power capacity. Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown New Jersey location: Forked River Exelon has a need for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner at our Quad Cities Plant in Cordova, IL (25 miles north of the Quad Cities). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Functions as the site Maintenance Specialist ¿ (Mechanical) SME and Vibration Analyst. Responsible for evaluating complex plant mechanical equipment degradation issues, coordinating component reliability improvements employing preventive, predictive and proactive techniques and component maintenance program optimization for pumps, fans, motors, chillers compressors and other key mechanical equipment. Additional responsibilities include equipment performance monitoring and equipment reliability, as well as equipment component troubleshooting. The Maintenance Specialists role in PM optimization and equipment performance improvement is critical to controlling site maintenance resources and preserving key Site equipment assets. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (means principal, main, major or most important duties / accountabilities that the employee performs) 1 Perform Field walk down inspections and analyses for key mechanical components. Provide consulting to Maintenance Department in troubleshooting, repair and PM optimization. 2 Manage Vibration program application, analyses and reporting. 3 Provide expert analysis and plant support pumps, fans, motors, chillers compressors and other key mechanical equipment condition assessment. 4 Assume component ownership for pumps, fans, motors, chillers compressors and other key mechanical equipment and perform periodic equipment condition assessments and update the component health status in the station CHIP report. 5 Participate in performing CAP and PEP program analyses, resolution development and implementation for key mechanical equipment issues. 6 Provide budget and business plan input (short term and long term) for key mechanical equipment. 7 Participate in working group activities with Fleet peers. Sharing experiences and lessons learned and incorporating Fleet best practices POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum: - 4 year technical degree and have a minimum of 8 years of utility or related industry experience or - 2-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years utility or related industry experience - 2 years as FLS or equivalent naval training (Chief status) can substitute for 2 year degree) - 8 years of mechanical equipment maintenance experience - A Level II Certification in Vibration Analysis with a minimum of two years field experience or a Level I Certification in Vibration Analysis with a minimum of four years field experience - Certification must meet the requirements in the American Society of Nondestructive Testing guideline SNT-TC-1A. If not certified, must attain Level II certification within 24 months - Must have good interdepartmental communication skills (verbal and written) - Strong personal computer (PC) skills Preferred: - Rotating equipment design knowledge POSITION SCOPE: Responsible for component ownership which includes ongoing equipment condition assessment and performing continuous reliability improvement as well as management of associated O&M Costs key mechanical plant equipment. Maintaining communication and working relationships with the respective system engineer/manager & maintenance disciplines to ensure appropriate operations and maintenance decisions are made is a primary responsibility.
