Managing Director, Origination and Project Development
Greenhouse gas reductions are created by capturing gases that would have otherwise been released to the atmosphere and permanently preventing their release (destruction or other permanent solution). Offset projects in the US are created in a voluntary market. While these instruments are commodity-like in nature, the project activities that can generate them will be widely varied and cross a number of sectors, including opportunities in different vertical markets such as: agricultural (capture of methane from animal waste streams or other organic processes), forestation (planting or replanting of trees), landfill (constructing methane gas capture systems), coal mine methane capture systems, energy efficiency, and energy production sectors. Greenhouse Gas Services’ strategy in this sector is to become a leading developer and owner of low-cost emission reductions to support the existing and developing regulatory markets. This position will have responsibility for Greenfield Offset Development, managing development teams in the U.S., and will have accountability for meeting offset production targets established in the GHGS business plan.
