Manager Purchasing - Bear Run

Position Purpose: Contribute to the profitability of the company by the economical and efficient management of the procurement of materials, supplies, services and equipment for mining operations.

Principal Accountabilities: Ensure competitive buying by evaluating suppliers and products, analyzing facilities and capabilities for providing reliable products and services at a competitive price Assure that products purchased are the most advanced for use in our industry Continually develop knowledge of equipment and materials, their use at operations and expected product life. Keep management informed regarding the latest technology, new product lines, product improvements, and potential new suppliers Negotiate and administer regional purchase agreements, including parts and materials, services, maintenance, rentals and repairs Interact with suppliers, Materials Management and /or warehouse management to ensure effective methods of inventory control and management Develop and manage annual strategies for the acquisition of capital equipment and national agreement commodities Develop and analyze various cost reports generated by information from the materials management system to utilize as a management tool for operations Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of computerized purchasing systems, computerized inventory systems and M & S accounting and warehousing techniques Experience with qualifying suppliers, negotiating vendor-managed inventories, consignment programs, E-commerce, value added vendor programs, supplier quality initiatives and the establishment of supplier performance measurement standards Effective organizational skills in handling multiple priorities and meeting required deadlines Well-developed written and oral communication skills Self-motivated for problem-solving and developing solutions Must have the ability to interface with all levels of management Adherence to high ethical standards and integrity are absolutely required

Education and/or Training: Bachelors Degree is required and 5 years experience in principle accountabilities is desirable Masters Degree is desirable Certified Purchasing Manager certification is desirable Previous warehousing and/or operations experience is desirable

Materials and Equipment Used: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Travel: Must be able to travel to remote mining operations and supplier locations
