Nearly 50 percent of the nuclear power plants in operation worldwide, and nearly 60 percent in the United States, are based on Westinghouse technology.GENERAL SUMMARYPosition is responsible for providing support and leadership in the operation of the Insurance Functions at Westinghouse. Provide direction and support in Westinghouse's insurance renewal activities, developing, and coordinating all claims-related activities, resolving bona fide claims at the least possible cost and supporting the merger and acquisition activities of Westinghouse.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide support during insurance renewals, including:- Exposure data collection and presentations- Risk Analysis presentations- Present information to underwriters- Advise on overall potential risk of loss on company exposures including insured, uninsured exposures, and retained losses.- Manage TPA/Insurer performance on all property/casualty lines of insurance through various means including claim audits, performance reports, direct interaction, and through third-party consultants.- Manage self-insured claims in-house and provide recommendations on how to achieve the most cost effective resolution.- Provide support to insurance carriers and/or outside counsel in all aspects of an insured claim, including the investigation, litigation, and settlement processes. The position will evaluate any settlement proposals from the insurance carriers and make settlement recommendations.- Provide and implement insurance training for all levels of management and staff.- Help develop insurance procedural manuals and appropriate insurance policies for the company.- Provide merger and acquisition support.- Generate and maintain appropriate and timely insurance budgets.- Submit monthly reports.- Other duties as assigned.The preferred candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:At least 10 years experience in the insurance industry;Insurance qualifications of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU and/or Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC)B.S.An in depth understanding of current insurance issues, including those critical to the nuclear industry; Capable of understanding complex risk and insurance issues; Excellent communications skills both within and outside Westinghouse; and a good understanding of international insurance markets.
