Manager, Boilers and Balance of Plant
Title: Manager, Boilers and Balance of PlantLocation: Central PA This individual will manage the team responsible for providing support in all aspects of operations and maintenance of boilers and related auxiliary equipment at (the client's) generating stations. This individual will be based in PA. (The client) operates approximately 20 generating facilities in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The generating fleet is primarily coal-fired. Principal Duties/Responsibilities Serve as subject matter expert for boilers and supervises all aspects of operations and maintenance of boilers and related auxiliary equipment. Provide technical direction and analysis to power stations including oversight of associated project implementation while meeting budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements and serves as primary point of contact for these processes Directs Senior Consulting Engineers, Consulting Engineers and Engineers Assists in the development of plans, strategies and budgets to meet Allegheny Generation & Marketing goals Interfaces with other areas of Allegheny, vendors, suppliers, contracts, general public and governmental regulators Researches new technologies Provides recommendations to stations on testing, inspection and condition of generating equipment Travels to stations as needed. Education/Training/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Masters degree is a plus Professional Engineer certification is preferred Ten years engineering equipment experience in power, petrochemical, or similar heavy industry including outage or shutdown experience Strong leadership, project management, contract administration and technical skills Willing to travel to power stations with some extended stays.
