Maintenance Engineer
The United Illuminating Company, headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut is an investor-owned regional electric utility that provides service to more than 320,000 customers in the greater New Haven and Bridgeport area. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in our Shelton facility.
This position employs the Maintain Availability Process to develop, plan and implement a maintenance strategy that balances safety, reliability, operational and current financial factors that influence UI. Roles and responsibilities: • Develop and review maintenance plans to align with current maintenance strategy • Coordinate, prioritize, and assist in scheduling maintenance activities • Review inspection/testing results for T&D system equipment • Utilize the Maintenance Management Information System (Maximo) to develop and plan maintenance activities, ensure proper and complete failure reporting, and manage data integrity • Provide support to workforce on maintenance related issues • Actively participate in utility working groups such as Doble, EPRI, IEEE and TDIS • Research industry developments and new technology, and provide technical expertise on infrastructure improvements from maintenance perspective
Candidate should have a BS degree in electrical engineering from and ABET accredited university or equivalent experience performing electrical engineering duties. Prior electrical utility experience a plus.
