Chevron Global Downstream is accepting online applications for the position of Learning & Development Advisor, Global Manufacturing (Refining) located in Richmond, CA (San Francisco Bay area) through September 24, 2008.Overview:This position will focus on developing, coordinating, and assisting individual refineries with the deployment of standardized Learning & Development (L&D) solutions for a 5,300 employee business unit comprised of eight refineries in the United States and abroad.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Actively participates with refinery-based L&D groups to ensure development and deployment of standardized L&D solutions for the Global Manufacturing organization. Internally seeks and transfers knowledge that contributes to building L&D capabilities across the business unit. Shares Best Practices and lessons learned. Significant role as change agent through our tranformsiton of existing L&D delivery proecesses. Area of focus will include: • Implementation of a competency-based learning system (definitions, system and assessment tool)• Operator and maintenance training curriculum, lesson plans, supporting material tied to competency system• Train-the-trainer programs• Writing effective training material program• Common training curriculum, test questions, for (training done at local level but with common curriculum)• Providing constant improvement & updating common training programs• Coordination of internal/external subject matter expert (SME) Trainers• Support of L&D systems and technologies• Development and maintenance of new hire testing and selection toolsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in Training, Development or Adult Learning preferred. • Minimum of 7 years of experience in learning and development role. • Experience with refining, manufacturing or process organizations in analyzing and implementing learning and development initiatives in support of business strategies and growth. • Demonstrated project planning and implementations skills. Ability to successfully deploy and implement large-scale projects.• Ability to implement strategies, business acumen, project management, and relationship building skills. Must be able to work collaboratively across divisions, functions and geographies.• 20% travel required.Preferred Qualifications: • Strong communication, presentation and training skills. • Relevant industry experience.
