Lead Maintenance Technician

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for training and overseeing the daily activities of the maintenance technician staff as well as for advanced inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment. Assumes responsibility for insuring the efficient and effective operation of water or wastewater treatment plants by: a. Ensuring that prescribed schedules and operating policies and procedures are followed. b. Making recommendations regarding improved operating systems and procedures. c. Allocating work and providing technical direction, assistance, and training to other personnel. Identifies problems or issues and determine the appropriate course of action Reviews and monitors work performed and recommends appropriate improvement in equipment, techniques, and procedures Advises and assists subordinates in diagnosing complex maintenance problems; and prepares routine and special reports detailing maintenance activities, progress, problems, and solutions Ensures that consistent maintenance records are kept Prepares maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Performs advanced repairs � turbine pumps, electrical motors and panels, centrifugal pumps, and chemical feed systems. Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs including wiring single/three phase motors. Ensures that all equipment is maintained according to maintenance manuals, and the highest standards and practices Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions High school diploma or equivalent and 8+ years related experiences or an equivalent combination of education and experience � Knowledge of standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components � Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems � Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable � Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call Valid driver�s license (CDL preferred) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Crane and forklift operator Rigging Metal Cutting Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds Able to climb ladders and stairways Able to pass fit-test for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Must be able to access confined spaces Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=553454-3-753 We encourage all qualified candidates to apply online at: http://jobs-severntrentservices.icims.com/ **Please indicate certification level or license.
