Position Summary

 

 

The Lead EHS Specialist reports to the Manager, SET EHS Systems.  The role of the Lead EHS Specialist is to provide support, leadership and expertise for the Corporate EHS department.  The primary focus of this role is on U.S. facilities and operations with an emphasis on enterprise wide application of policies, standards and tools to support a zero injury/illness culture and ensure business unit compliance with applicable EHS Regulations, company policies and the EHS Management System.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

·         Lead role in development and deployment of appropriate Performance/Program Standards outlining minimum EHS expectations.

·         Develop and execute EHS objectives, targets, strategies and action plans, in conjunction with appropriate client groups, to ensure conformance with SET’s EHS Management System.

·         Participate in the development and execution of enterprise wide corrective actions resulting from SET's internal and external EHS assurance and auditing programs.

·         Team leadership role in the development and implementation of SET’s integrated EHS data management system (EPASS).

·         Monitor and comment on EHS Federal Regulations while defining the impact to the SET organization.

·         Lead role in the development of internal and external EHS communications.

·         Lead role in the development of EHS metric protocols and EHS metric reports.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

·         BS in Health & Safety, environmental science, engineering or equivalent.

·         Ten + years progressive experience with EHS Management Systems, EHS Auditing, EHS Statistical Analysis or related experience.

·         Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Power Point.

·         Practical experience and understanding of EHS regulations (CAA,

      RCRA, OHSA, SARA, and TSCA), audit programs and EHS Policy

      and Standards development.

 

 Desired Qualifications



·         Practical experience with development of EHS metrics (GHG emissions inventory reporting).

·         Background and practical experience in risk management, root cause incident investigation techniques and PSM.

·         Excellent analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multi-faceted situations/problems/concepts along with the capacity to venture beyond core competencies.

·         Active interest/ involvement in professional EHS organizations.

·         Background and understanding of interstate natural gas transmission/storage/processing facilities and operations.

·         Strong problem solving and decision making skills.

·         Ability to work independently in a fast paced setting, along with the ability to be a strong team player on cross and inter departmental project teams.

 ·         EHS certifications/designations.
