Labor Relations Specialist
Department Overview Labor Relations administers, interprets and enforces the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Human Resource policies and procedures, and issues corrective action when necessary.Position SummaryThe Labor Relations Specialist will oversee contract administration and grievance handling, and interface with three labor unions (IBEW, ESC and SEIU) representing approximately 40 employees. The position offers exceptional growth and career opportunity in the field of labor relations and is located at a top industry rated nuclear power facility on the scenic central coast of California.Responsibilities Provide labor relations specialist support and expertise to Humboldt Bay Power Plant: provide timely and accurate labor agreement interpretation to plant management; manage grievance procedure at second step (LIC); negotiate and prepare local letters of agreement; develop and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives; research and provide recommendations on performance management and disciplinary action for bargaining unit employees. Provide employee relations support to Humboldt Bay PP organizations: work with department leadership to recommend solutions and strategies on employee related issues and questions; provide consultation and guidance to employees and management on HR policies and procedures; consult and make recommendations on performance management for management and A&T employees. Manage employee and labor relations issues associated with the closure of Humboldt Bay PP, nuclear decommissioning and establishment of new plant.
