Lab Technician

Intelligent Energy is an energy solutions company at the forefront of applying fuel cell technology to distributed power generation, portable power and transportation applications. We are seeking a dependable Lab Technician to join our casual but professional environment.

Lab Technician

As the Lab Technician, you will provide support to Test Engineers and be capable of testing the fuel cell systems with minimum supervision. You will setup, repair and operate mechanical and hydraulic components for the operation of prototype energy technology and shop equipments including pumps, blowers, piping and tubing systems while working under the supervision of Engineering and R&T Scientists.

Responsibilities:

·  Set up and operate systems associated with the development of small scale hydrogen generation and desulfurization systems

·  Support Shop Manager building and maintaining facilities

·  Install and operate of small pumps, blowers, fans and other equipment

·  Maintain work safely

·  Liaise with Resource Group Managers

·  Interface with Engineering and R&T staff

·  Operate within the safety and quality guidelines as set by the Site Manager


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will posses at least 5 years experience, installing, maintaining and operating hydraulic and mechanical systems, as well as knowledge and experience in assembly processes including threaded and flanged joints, swedgelok like fittings, coupled tubing joints and structural joints, bolting and welded connections. Proficiency using small tools and machining equipment, welding and small package layout and ability to read schematic drawings and build test and preproduction packages from schematic drawing with the support of the engineering staff required. The successful individual will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience and abilities:

·  Strong mechanical aptitude

·  Hands on technical abilities with PC/PLC based controls systems and instrumentation

·  Good team working skills

·  Ability to work under pressure

·  Excellent interpersonal skills

·  Team player

·  Dependable

·  Some PLC and PC programming experience
