These intern opportunities are located across the US including Pittsburgh, PA - Windsor, CT - Columbia, SC - Chicago, IL - and Ogden, UT.The successful candidate must have the following:1. At the time of the internship - the candidate must have attained at a minimum junior status.2. A minimum GPA of at least 2.8.3. Pursuing a BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline. Nuclear energy originates from the splitting of uranium atoms in a process called fission. At the power plant, the fission process is used to generate heat for producing steam, which is used by a turbine to generate electricity. The AP1000 has also passed all the steps for compliance with European Utility Requirements. And, the AP1000 is the only Generation III+ plant to receive design certification my the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, with many US utilities already having selected the AP1000 as their technology of choice.
