Position Overview:
The Information Management Program Manager will manage and coordinate the design, implementation and effort to sustain the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) business solutions for the division, including a vision and strategy consistent with the global Nexen information management activity. This position is expected to contribute significantly to the achievement of divisional business objectives and develop effective working relationships with the management team. This role is the primary management focus for information management project delivery.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Acts as change leader for information and information management across division.
- Builds and manages divisional information management vision, strategy and project portfolio.
- Maintains a broad level of knowledge in the information management discipline and methodology and develop awareness among the division¿s leadership of the capabilities and business value of information management; keeps ahead of external information management technology innovation and how it can support divisional initiatives.
- Develops effective working relationships with stakeholders and business unit leaders to establish planning, ongoing operations and information management governance.
- Sources and leads information management resources.
- Identifies, recommends and assists in implementing new information management roles and responsibilities, including changes to the organizational structure as needed.
- Identifies support needs and provides an effective support program.
- Aids in creating and maintaining a multi-year information management program and roadmap, developed with Nexen corporate and Nexen UK information management leadership.
- Works with business and technology stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize, and recommend projects for additional information management function, ensures effective business sponsorship, oversees sub-contractor negotiations, and ensures benefits are identified and performance is measured and delivered to the satisfaction of all business stakeholders.
- Works with information management systems administrator to enhance development resource effectiveness by leveraging solutions across business units wherever possible.
- Manages projects in a manner consistent with central IT methodologies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for managing the project teams delivering information management initiatives for the U.S. business unit. The position will directly supervise the Document Content Administrator and have dotted line responsibility for the Systems Administrator. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

A Bachelors degree from a four year college or university is required, plus six to eight years of strongly related experience. Well rounded experience in project and people management and experience leading IT initiatives is also required.
The successful candidate will also have the following:
- A background in the information management discipline and architecture, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), IT project methodologies and associated best practices
- Some petroleum industry experience
- Experience in document control in the engineering and construction industry preferably oil and gas facilities
- Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments
- Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling and other major project control techniques
- A background with information management professional organizations and suppliers
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Information management related certification is preferred but not required.
