Industrial Engineer
Title: Industrial EngineerStatus: Exempt
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations: Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication. Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations. May develop management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
Communicates with marketing to assist in forecasting and implementation of forecast in manufacturing systems.
Develops optimization of manufacturing processes using LEAN methodologies.
Specific Duties
The preferred candidate will hold a degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience, have experience working in a manufacturing environment as well we experience working with cross-functional teams. The preferred candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and develop a strong working relationship with the manufacturing teams and leads

Must be customer focused to assure that customers* needs are fully met through the most economic methods.
Must develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in engineering processes and procedures.
Must have strong technical skills with excellent math, problem solving and analytical skills.
Must participate in cross discipline activities to support all business segments.
Thorough understanding of the quality management system.
Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Able to make presentations to customers and internal staff, including management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE NEEDED *
TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
* 3-5 years experience in related field required.
* SMT (Surface Mount Technology)/ Industrial process development experience
* Proficiency with computer software programs (Microsoft products, AutoCAD).
* Thorough understanding of the quality management system.
* Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines
