Department: Customer ServiceJob Requisition #: 08-274Location: Davis, CAReports to: Customer Service SupervisorTravel: NoneResponsibilities:The import/export specialist ensures Schilling maintains legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control to conform to government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Interfaces with internal departments, external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other parties to ensure proper coordination and logistics of shipments. Reviews contracts, ensures export documents are completed and accurate, and coordinates commodity codes. The chosen candidate will file duty drawbacks and will research opportunities to maximize duty drawback eligibility.Qualifications:Five (5) years of experience in the import/export field.High school degree.Extensive knowledge and familiarity with all aspects involved in international shipping logistics.Proficient understanding of Incoterms and international trade terminology.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must by highly organized and detail oriented.Strong ability to follow up and follow through on open customer items. Preferred Qualifications:US Broker’s license.Previous work in a manufacturing environment. Some customer service experience.Experience with Letters of Credit (L/C).Some shipping/receiving experience or prior experience with a freight carrier.Experience in a fast paced environment.
