IT Manager

We are a dynamic and growing lighting distribution company based in Commerce, CA, with warehouses and sales offices located on both coasts of the United States.  We have an immediate opening for an experienced IT Department Manager, with a background in purchasing, inventory control, MRP or a manufacturing environment.

The IT Department Manager will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT Department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business opertions. 

The IT Department Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization, while maintaining the networks in an operational mode.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and implement improvements to the supporting infrastructure company-wide under the direction of corporate leadership. Oversee the implementation of network security at the coporate level. Anticipate future network needs, identifies proactive solutions to satisfy needs. Oversee infrastructure support & training activities and resolve escalated issues if necessary. Provide senior and first level resolution to internal client issues. Help establish and build relationships with vendors and coordinate all IT purchasing. Capacity planning and managing vendor negotiations related to IT. Effective communication of relevant IT-related information to senior management. Unit staff oversight to ensure new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives. Preparation of IT budget projections on a company-wide basis. Communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies. Maintain & troubleshoot both hardware and software.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ideal candidate will have started their career in purchasing, inventory control, MRP or a manufacturing environment and have experience managing a department that supports more than 100 users.  The right candidate will also have hands on experience with; managing Windows 2000 Server and above, Active Directory, managing LAN and WAN services, Terminal Services Management, and RF integrated warehouse management systems.  SQL experice a plus.

EDUCATION:  A University degree or equivalent experiences.
