This is your opportunity to join our team and make your contributions in an industry that is rapidly changing.The Instrument and Control Maintenance Department is responsible for all I&C maintenance at Diablo Canyon, from security to the reactor rod controllers.Position SummaryThe Maintenance Foreman is the first line maintenance supervisor of 8 to 9 bargaining unit I&C maintenance crafts people at a nuclear power plant. The position will work days on a 4x10 schedule.Responsibilities:• Responsible for ensuring equipment functions properly by implementing an effective maintenance program and resolving equipment problems in a timely manner and in accordance with plant procedures. • Coach, mentor, and monitor direct reports. Provide a work environment that promotes the Maintenance Services Standards of Excellence, personal accountability, teamwork, open communication and respect. Be responsible by balancing cost, productivity, customer satisfaction, and problem resolution. Set expectations and hold individuals accountable. Deal with performance issues on an individual basis. Be sincere when praise is deserved and coach or discipline quickly. Document results. Perform performance reviews of each direct report.• Perform pre-job tailboards. Ensure that craft leaving tailboards have a thorough understanding of their responsibilities. Monitor work in the field for quality workmanship and ensure procedure and work order adherence. Maximize job efficiency by: removing barriers, sharing resources, ensuring necessary coordination, and providing effective turnover information. Perform post job critiques and promote documentation of lessons learned and operating experience.• Share ownership of the training required within your area of responsibility. Perform management observations and look for areas of improvement that would benefit your group.• Work with I&C Leadership to share the collective responsibities for maintaining the dept., housekeeping, problem solving, training,assisting peers.QualificationsRequired:• Knowledge of power generation plant instruments and controls • Supervisory experience• Excellent communications skillsDesired:• Nuclear I&C experience in a nuclear power plant• MST qualified• I&C Training Instructor experienceEqual Employment Opportunity, M/F/D/V.
